At
the beginning of the nineties I returned to the Czech Republic
after working in Vienna for some years. During my years in
Vienna I became acquainted with many beautiful places and cafés,
and so I decided to open my own (first) café in Pardubice-CZ.
After about five years I found another place in the historical
centre of Pardubice. The building was rather neglected, but even
then I knew that if my idea would work it would be a success!
Since my childhood I have a weakness for the time when we
belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and that is why I
collect objects and photographs belonging to that time, all
sorts of furniture, tills and stoves…… Just anything connected
to that time.
Because I am a skilled waiter, I decided to combine my hobby
with my work. What of course helped was that both my sons are
skilled in the same branch, and are connected to the business.
Soon we will be celebrating the 13th anniversary of the opening
of my first café.
